Circuit Training - Distance and Midpoint Formulas (algebra, geometry) (2024)

I wrote this as a request for an algebra one teacher for her students as they bridge to geometry. There are 16 problems in all and build from finding the distance and the midpoint to finding an endpoint or a missing coordinate when the distance and/or midpoint is given. There is also an introduction to the equation of a circle.

I plan to include two word problems and will notify any buyers when I have uploaded the new circuit.

The format is self-checking because the students must search for their answer to advance in the circuit. Students of all ages love this format! There is no answer key included because the answers are embedded in the circuit. The only thing the teacher needs to do is work the circuit ahead of his or her students to decide how to best use it in the classroom. Cooperative work? Stations? Homework? A scavenger hunt?

If you get stuck, please do not hesitate to email me at virginia.cornelius@gocommodores.org.
