You’ll Need a Purpose Before You Begin
Vision boards are one of the most beneficial goal-achieving tools you can create. They are meant to be hung and displayed to constantly remind you of where you’re headed and WHY you are headed there. This may be physically written on your board or it may be symbolized by photos, images, or quotes. Vision boards are used to artistically and creatively organize your intentions and keep you on track towards your dreams.
Vision Board Materials Checklist:
Below are the items you will want to collect prior to starting your vision board.
1. Backdrop to your masterpiece.
2. Graphics / Photographs that inspire you. You can find images on your phone roll, magazines or internet search.
3. Creating Tools. Scissors, tape or glue, pins, and a nice writing pen.
4. Quotes and Inspirational Images
5. Embellishments. This can range from stickers to fabric to one of our favorites…charms. Embellishments are the jewelry to your board.
Foam Board – or whatever material you choose as the backdrop
You will need a board to display your designs. Your board can be any size, shape, or make ranging from foam boards to poster boards and even occasionally cork boards. A vision board can be large enough to hang on your wall, or small enough to fit in a frame on your desk. Find the right size for you.
Graphics / Theme
You will want to spend some time creating a theme for your board. Creating this can often be a struggle. Try to focus your goals on a word of the year and let that lead you to your theme and color scheme. We suggest finding several images and graphics that may follow your theme. Find photos that inspire you, or pick a color that brightens your day.
Create Your Personal Touch
Adding a bit of personal touch to your board is the fun part! I challenge you to print photos of places you want to go, things you want to complete. Add your own flair with texture, 3-dimensional stickers, or fabric to your design.
Quotes
Another fun way to use graphics to tie your Vision Board together is to search for some inspirational quotes that will help remind you of your why and give you the courage to continue to follow your vision.
