The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was named Athlete of the Year on Sunday night at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, one week after the Chiefs took down the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
Basketball players LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry, Sabrina Ionescu and Steph Curry, tennis player Coco Gauff, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, and World Cup soccer star Lionel Messi were also nominated for the award, but Kelce was able to take home the award.
The People’s Choice Awards are voted on by fans, and there’s no doubt that Swifties helped Kelce take home some hardware.
Kelce wasn’t in attendance at the award show, and neither was his popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift, who happened to receive four People’s Choice Awards.
Swift won awards for Best Female Artist, Best Social Media Celebrity, Best Concert Tour and Best Pop Artist.
Swift is busy touring in Australia for “The Eras Tour.”
